Ireland: Arrival

12/9/12

After 14 hours of flight, we finally reached Dublin Airport. Beforehand, we were told that a chinese guy, Bernard, would be at the airport to fetch us to AIT. However, we were surprised to see a caucasian guy hoding a sign saying "Temasek Polytecnic: Serene Soh and Stephanie Leong". Afterwhich, we got to know that he is Father Shay and Bernard couldn't come due to his busy schedule.

After 2 hours of ride, we reached AIT. We had salad for unch in the college. Then we were brought to the International Office to meet the people there. We met Carmel, Bernald, Eoin (tall guy) and Coreen (Australian girl who was having her attachment at AIT). They were really nice people!

We got our registration done and Bernald drove us to town to pay our rental and buy our blankets, pillows and bed sheets. Bernald said that he has been in Ireland for 8 years ad he teaches in AIT.

My second bed that would accompany me for 10 weeks.

On the first day, Father Shay invited us over to his house for dinner. When we were at his house, we were introduced to Simona (Italian guy) and Gabriel African guy).

HAHAHAHA I think I look shocked here

The house was really cosy and the dinner was really really really sumptuous! We had chicken with spices and baked potatoes.

Though chicken is my favourite, I had no appetite because I was really tired due to the long day. Father Shay was so nice to serve us with cake. BUT I WAS REALLY TOO FULL. I was in a state whereby anymore food that goes into my mouth will cause me to throw up. But I still managed to finish it and trying to show happiness on my face hahaha.

I thought that cake was last but there's still more! T-E-A~ At that time, I nearly fainted. I didn't reject because its rude to do so and my sister told me before that we have to accept when someone offers something though we really don't feel like having it hahah. At that point of time, I really feel like going home (impossible but at least return back to our apartment).

The first night was really a nightmare to me because I couldn't sleep well. It was partly due to jetlag and also because of the green tea I had during dinner.
