Baking Class / Treetop Walk / Dog Shelter

Baking class with Joey and Yunis :)
I'm not really a baking person but I enjoyed the quality and fun time spent with my friends.

Treetop walk @ Macritchie Reservoir

Woke up at 5.30am, met Yunis for mac breakfast and set off to Macritchie~ There are many ways to reach Macritchie. In the end we travelled to Marymount station and changed bus from there. We had some hard time finding the bustop as it wasn't the one situated right outside the station. It is behind the station and we had to walk pass a petrol station to reach the bustop. Can't rmb which bus no we took but it was only two stops to our destination.

Initial plan was to take on the trail straight to the HSBC treetop bridge. But the sight of ppl kayaking at the reservoir caught our attention and we decided to go for an impromptu kayaking session wooohooooooooooooooooooooooooo. We didn't bring any extra clothings to change in case we get wet. But still, we didn't hesitate at all to go for kayaking. hahhahah I guess we are both adventurous ppl and risk takers. The rate of kayaking is $15 per hour.

LIFE-OF-YUNIS~

后面那位小姐很忙!

In the end, only Yunis got her pants wet because there are holes in the front seat hahahaha. (so choose the back seat the next time you plan to go). I actually prefer kayaking at Macritchie Reservoir to Sentosa. Main reason being there's no waves/current, which means no motion sickness.

Start of the trail~ We were thinking of taking picture at each pit stop. But after the first 3 stops, we stopped as we thought that it wasn't making any sense as the pictures all look the same hahahaha another reason being the picture gets uglier and uglier as we were all worn up walking the 5km trail.

Last 0.2km to..........................

yayyyyy we finally reached the treetop!

TEMPINES????!!!

After walking the bridge, the idea of walking back hit us hard. The thought of walking the long route out to take a bus under the unbearable heat.................nooooooooooooooooooo! We had no choice but to walk walk walk walk walk and keep walking. After much perseverance, we finally saw the sight of the bustop. OMGGGG WE MADE IT.

We were all worn out but still the feeling of contentment and sense of accomplishment made everything worthwhile. Then we took the bus to AMK hub and we had our fave Mos burger for lunch. Time-check @ Mos burger: 3pm. Couldn't believe we spent 4-5 hours @ Macritchie.

Posted photo of me at the treetop and my Indonesian friend commented on it, asking me to bring her there. ok face cramped* maybe next year la...this kind of thing one year go one time is enough. And I think that I did one year worth of work out that day so this means that I don't  have to exercise for the rest of months alr hahahah *crap*

Volunteering @ Dog shelter

hahahhahahaha yes dog shelter......I don't know where my balls come from. To think that I'm not a devoted dog lover and still having fear towards them, my decision of going to dog shelter is really a huge step for me. Met YT and had breakfast tgt before heading there. Aftering taking bus don't-know-what-number, we still had to walk a long stretch before reaching the place.

We haven't even step in the place and the dogs were already barking super-freaking-extremely loudly. 吓到我脆弱于渺小的心。。。真是的,讨厌!Stepped into the place and was asked to fill up a form for first timers. I admit that I thought of backing out....but in the end I still went for it. One of the volunteers there brought us for a tour around the shelter and described to us the characteristics of each dog.

First cage - she told us that all the dogs in this cage are quite aggressive and especially one particular one who bites (ok can. Don't go there)

Second cage - can't rmb what exactly she said but is about how the dogs attacked her and she got 6 stitches :/

then goes on to third cage, fourth cage.......

In conclusion, all the cages need to be careful hahahahha

I was thinking the tour will help to soothe my soul as I get to know the dogs to avoid and not to provoke...but after the tour, warao make me more scared leh simi 6 stitches.

THEN I BROUGHT OUT ALL MY BALLS AND ENTERED ONE OF THE CAGES THAT MY JUNIOR CLAIMED AS THE LESS AGGRESSIVE....

*inside the cage* haahahaha kind of glad all the dogs seem to like YT more. All went over to lick her. hahahahhahahha I witnessed her face cramped. Then I suggested to bring them for a walk ASAP because this means we can leave that place.

YT walking Big Girl (left) and I walking Small Girl (right)

YT was so LUCKY that day. Firstly got surrounded by all the dogs in the cage. Secondly, she got to walk a dog that POOP so much hahahahhahahahaha. She had to pick up every single poop that Big Girl released. Heng ah Small Girl didn't poop at all. The funny thing is that it was YT's idea to walk Big Girl hahha

After walking them, we went back to the shelter and gave them a shower.

YAYYYYY felt accomplished after that day as I managed to overcome my fear.
