Why Braces?

Why braces?

Suddenly have the inspiration to blog about this...I find it interesting to know the reason behind why individuals wear braces. For me, it took around a year to make this step of getting them. The idea of getting braces came up to my mind after o'level. I thought I would be having a long break before entering poly and it would be the right time for me to get them. However, due to some hesitant, I didn't. I was afraid and not ready. And I only got them last year october which was the end of semester 1.

Coming back to the objective...I used to lose confident because of my teeth. They overlapped due to overcrowding and I got very upset over it. I used to smile with my lips sealed especially during lower secondary school .

even when lips are sealed, the edge of the teeth will tend to show up a little...

Some time during upper secondary school, I tried convincing myself that my teeth situation was not that bad. The persuasion somehow worked and I tend to smile with my teeth...Some photos taken from good angles which made my flaws less obvious really encourage me.

(sorry yl....hahahha)

On the other hand, some photos really make me upset...like the ones below

OMGOSH THIS WAS TAKEN DURING SEC 1 (SORRY SHARON HAHAHA)

You guys must be stunned right? As you can see, my front teeth overlapped and one of them was directly behind the other.

I knew I would not be convinced for long and before the saddening feeling returns, I consulted the dentist. After knowing I needed extractions and the complexity, I did not hesitate to proceed unlike the last time round. I guess I'm pretty determined and more ready than before.

(self-questioning) Did I regret wearing braces?

I still can't believe I made the move... I thought I was really brave hahahaha. Frankly speaking, the night of my extraction, I really felt regretful. I guess that feeling derived from the trauma I got from the first-time extraction experience and the XL size anaestatics. For a few nights, I felt really frightened once I closed my eyes. But things got better as day passed...got recovered from trauma hahahah...healing from extractions...And not long after, I wore my braces. One thing I'm sure of is that I did not regret wearing them. I'm glad that I made the first move bravely.

Everything going smoothly now...I'm very happy to see the difference and amazed of how my teeth changes place and slowly to its' desired position.

This was taken not long after I got my braces...you can still see overlapping...

This was taken recently and that is 5-6mths of wearing braces...you can see overlapping has reduced or you can also say NO MORE OVERLAPPING hehehe

I still remembered I went back to school during the first day of semester 2, everyone was asking "WHY BRACES?" "WHY BRACES" and one of my friend even said "YOU STUPID AH WHY YOU GO PUT BRACES?"

Back then, I got really frustrated but didn't explained much though because I didn't know how to...I guess this post will be able to answer their doubts pretty well.
